Details
The washer inner tub balance ring assembly mounts directly to the upper perimeter rim of the spinning inner wash basket. This hollow, ring-shaped component is factory-sealed and partially filled with a high-density stabilizing fluid or moving internal weights designed to dynamically shift in direct opposition to the weight of saturated clothing. By counteracting uneven load distribution in real-time, the ring prevents centrifugal forces from pulling the wash tub off-axis during high-speed extraction cycles. Over extended periods of operation, violent unbalanced impacts can fracture the plastic tracking seams, resulting in a loss of internal counterweight fluid. Typical indications that the balance ring has failed include an excessively loud banging or rattling noise during the spin cycle, severe cabinet shaking or "walking" across the floor, or the washer regularly tripping the out-of-balance safety switch and shutting down mid-cycle.
