The fresh food door gasket (color: white) runs along the inner perimeter perimeter of the main refrigerator door frame. It features an integrated magnetic strip that pulls securely against the steel cabinet exterior when the door is closed, preventing warm, humid room air from entering while trapping cold air inside. Over years of regular door openings and friction, the vinyl material can flatten, crack, split, or become rigid. Common symptoms of a failing door gasket include condensation or heavy moisture puddles inside the cabin, frost buildup migrating near the door liner, an overworked compressor running for extended cycles, or the fresh food door popping open on its own.
